Black Forest Labs launches FLUX 3 for consumer GPUs

Meta has released Muse Spark Open, an open-weight multimodal mixture-of-experts model aimed at the frontier tier of generative AI. The release makes the model's weights publicly available, continuing Meta's pattern of open releases in a space often dominated by closed systems. It represents a notable step in bringing high-capacity multimodal architectures to the broader research and developer community.

Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Image Klein, a 5.6-billion-parameter open-weights image model capable of native 4K generation and pixel-precise editing. Despite having 38 percent fewer parameters than its predecessor, the model holds its own against proprietary alternatives in internal benchmarks - and fits on consumer GPUs with as little as 8 GB of VRAM.

NVIDIA has released Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, a 120-billion-parameter open multimodal model built on a mixture-of-experts architecture with only 12 billion parameters active at any given time. The model supports a one-million-token context window and ships with NVFP4 quantized weights, allowing it to run on a single DGX Spark system. NVIDIA also released two smaller Bolt edge variants alongside the flagship model.

President Trump shared a set of White House renovation photos on Truth Social, but one image comparing an old column to a restored one appears to have been edited using AI. The photo was flagged by Google's AI detection tool as "made or edited with OpenAI," and sharp-eyed Reddit users noted structural inconsistencies in the image itself.
