Adobe Announces That Its Premiere Mobile App Will Finally Be Available on Android

Adobe has released its Premiere mobile app on Android, expanding availability beyond the iPhone version that launched roughly a year ago. The app is free to download from the Google Play Store and requires Android 13 or later with a minimum of 5GB of RAM. Optional paid tiers unlock additional generative credits and cloud storage, but core editing features are accessible without a subscription or forced login.
The feature set centers on a multi-track timeline with frame-accurate editing, support for video up to 4K resolution, and a distraction-free interface with no ads or watermarks. Audio tools include Enhance Audio for cleaning up recordings, and creators can layer music, voiceovers, and sound effects alongside their footage. Editing templates, transitions, effects, and assets from Adobe Stock are also available within the app.
A notable component of the Android release is integration with Adobe Firefly, the company's generative AI platform. Features include Generative Fill, Image-to-Video, and Generate Sound Effects - tools that have already been part of the broader Adobe ecosystem on desktop and are now accessible directly on mobile. Adobe has indicated that additional capabilities are in development for the Android version, including Adobe Fonts support, enhanced captions, keyframe controls, beat detection, cropping, and the ability to continue an edit seamlessly on Premiere desktop.
The Android launch follows a pattern that has become fairly common in the mobile creative app space - Blackmagic Camera being another recent example - where an iOS release comes first and Android support follows some months later. For Android-based video creators who have wanted access to Premiere's familiar toolset without moving to a desktop, the app fills a gap that has existed since the mobile version debuted last year.
