Amazon has integrated a generative image feature into its Shopping app that allows customers to create custom designs through Alexa and place them on a range of physical products. Users describe what they want - a graphic, a pattern, a piece of text-driven art - and the system produces artwork that can then be printed on items including T-shirts, hoodies, and tumblers.
The move connects two existing Amazon capabilities: its Alexa assistant, which has been receiving AI upgrades over the past couple of years, and its Merch on Demand program, which handles on-demand printing and fulfillment for custom products. By linking these together inside the Shopping app, Amazon lowers the barrier for customers who want personalized goods without any design background or third-party software.
