Maket 2.0 brings AI floor plans and 3D home renders

Maket, a startup building generative AI tools for architectural and residential design, has launched version 2.0 of its platform. The headline additions are AI-generated floor plans and photorealistic 3D home renders, bringing the tool closer to a full end-to-end design suite for residential projects.
Previously, Maket was known primarily for its ability to generate interior design concepts and style variations. The move into floor plan generation is a notable step up in technical complexity - producing a coherent floor plan requires the model to reason about spatial relationships, room adjacency, traffic flow, and building conventions, rather than simply applying visual styles to an existing space.
The 3D rendering feature complements the floor plan tool by letting users visualize a proposed layout as an exterior or interior scene. This kind of rapid visualization has traditionally required dedicated software like SketchUp or Revit, along with significant time investment from a trained designer. Offering it within the same AI-assisted workflow lowers the barrier for early-stage design exploration, whether for a professional scoping a project or a homeowner planning a renovation.
Maket 2.0 positions the platform alongside a growing set of tools targeting the architecture and real estate sectors with generative AI, including offerings from companies like Finch and Autodesk's own AI-assisted features. The residential design space is proving to be an active area for applied generative image and 3D AI, given how visually driven the client communication process tends to be. How well Maket's floor plan outputs hold up to professional scrutiny - in terms of code compliance and practical buildability - will likely determine how deeply the tool gets adopted beyond the concept stage.
