Runway News | Runway is in Claude Motion

Runway has introduced a workflow connecting Claude Motion - Anthropic's animated explainer tool - with its own video production platform. Users can now export animations created in Claude Motion directly into Runway, where a fuller set of post-production tools becomes available without needing to move files between unrelated applications.

Once inside Runway, the imported animation can serve as a starting point or structural backbone for a more complete video. Users can generate additional footage to accompany the explainer content, add voiceover and music tracks, and make scene-by-scene edits to refine pacing or messaging. The integration is designed to reduce the friction that typically sits between AI-assisted content creation and a finished, publish-ready video.

Reformatting for multiple channels is also part of the pipeline. A single piece of content can be adapted to different aspect ratios and lengths to suit platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or LinkedIn - a practical consideration for teams producing content at scale without the resources to re-edit everything manually.

The pairing of Claude Motion's text-driven animation capabilities with Runway's generative video and editing tools reflects a broader trend of AI platforms building connections with one another rather than trying to cover every use case independently. For creators and small production teams, the combined workflow lowers the barrier to producing polished video content that would otherwise require dedicated motion graphics software and a separate editing suite.

Nikon has disqualified the original first-place winner of its Small World in Motion microscopy video competition after determining the entry used generative AI in post-processing, violating contest rules. Dr. Ning Xu's video, which purported to show cilia moving in a child's airway, came under scrutiny after doubts about its authenticity surfaced online. Nikon confirmed last week that it had been reviewing the submission before reaching its decision.

Claude can now generate animated explainer videos and live data dashboards from text prompts

Anthropic has introduced two beta features for Claude: Dashboards, which connects to data sources like BigQuery and Snowflake to build live dashboards from text prompts, and Motion, which produces animated explainer videos from text and images. The company also expanded its existing Docs, Slides, and Design tools to all users, including those on free plans.
